About Ved Namdeep

When I receive my spiritual name, I am taken aback: “Ved Namdeep, the lion whose radiant and fearless self is filled with god’s wisdom and known by meditating on his name.” I am puzzled by this description and even double-check if I have provided the correct information to 3HO. Throughout the entire magical mystery tour, I struggle to find a meaningful connection with my spiritual name.

Upon meeting my German-Dutch teacher again, we discuss this enigma. A few days later, he offers me a clue to unravel it. The solution is literally before my eyes. Reverse ‘Namdeep’ to get ‘deep name’, signifying I delve deeply into diverse and challenging subjects to extract their essence, then intertwines and connects that knowledge with familiar concepts. It is true that I am interested in almost everything and enjoy studying material thoroughly.

Next, I integrate this new knowledge and live it whereby it evolves into wisdom, which is the translation of ‘Ved’, sharing the same root as the Vedas, the ancient four volumes of holy books of the Hindus that encompass all their wisdom for future generations. I also have a tendency to share my progressive insights with others.

In summary, my spiritual name can be seen as “the eternal student, the eternal teacher”. I cannot imagine a better description of how I approach life.
